A modern biomedical advancement worthy of note and warning.
The following isn’t related to weather, but is fascinating and is, in my view worthy of mention to the nation as a whole. Bear in mind that I am blind as you read through it.
As far as medical related technological advances go, this new advancement doesn’t do a thing for us blind folks, but it is certainly interesting.
Especially if you have a paralysis related impairment of some sort.

I offer the foregoing article as an example of impressive biomedical advancement as well as a warning. I had a visual implant surgically installed in 2019, which was done with the promise of life-long supports and upgrades.
9 months later the company declared bankruptcy, took their research, money and advanced medical data and dumped “us” by internet notice. All of their promises that induced us to get the surgery and participate in their research simply vanished in one easily filed bankruptcy filing.
So, on one hand, the biomedical advancement discussed in the article is impressive and certainly holds promise. But you need to beware of promises. While it’s great to be a dreamer, you need to remember that all dreamers eventually wake up. In the end, corporate ethics begin and end with the money. Those of us who get the implants are easily left out of the loops.
