Air Quality Alert Message Relayed by National Weather Service Gray ME 11:26 PM EDT Sat Jul 26 2025 AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 11 PM EDT SUNDAY The Maine Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Quality has issued an Air Quality Alert for particle pollution from 6 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Particle pollution levels are expected to reach Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range Sunday for the Southwest Coast, Western Interior and Eastern Interior regions. A plume of smoke is expected to wrap around and move back into Maine on Sunday. The densest portion of the plume is expected to begin pushing in around daybreak in the southwest corner and move roughly northeastward through the day.   The Maine Department of Environmental Protection recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects.
