Flood Watch

National Weather Service Gray ME

2:29 PM EDT Fri Oct 6 2023

A low pressure system with deep moisture will bring a period of

moderate to locally heavy rain to the region Saturday into Saturday night. Some localized flooding of urban, low lying, and poor drainage areas will be possible where the heaviest rainfall occurs. Fall leaf debris could exacerbate flooding issues if blocking storm drains.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and west central Maine, including the following areas, in south central Maine, Coastal Waldo, Interior Waldo, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, and Southern Somerset. In west central Maine, Central Somerset.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris from Fall foliage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor the latest forecast and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
