Statement as of 5:25 PM EDT on August 8, 2014

Strong thunderstorms will impact Lincoln County and Kennebec

County through 6:15 PM EDT.

At 5:25 PM EDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a

strong thunderstorm centered 4 miles northwest of Whitefield... or

about 5 miles southeast of Gardiner... moving southeast at 10 mph.

This strong thunderstorm will affect areas in and around

Whitefield... Dresden and Alna through 615 PM EDT.

 

Hail up to three quarter inch in diameter... heavy downpours...

excessive cloud-to-ground lightning and gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph

can be expected.
