Winter Storm Warning in effect from 4 am Tuesday to midnight
EDT Tuesday night.
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm Warning for snow... which is in effect from 4 am Tuesday to midnight
EDT Tuesday night. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
* Locations... areas along and just inland of the mid coast of
Maine.
* Hazard types... snow.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches.
* Timing... late Monday night into Tuesday night.
* Impacts... roads will become snow covered and slippery. Snowfall
rates of an inch or more an hour possible. Some power outages
are possible near the coast in heavy wet snow. Some rain could
mix in along the immediate coast Tuesday afternoon.
* Winds... northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* Temperatures... mid 20s to lowers 30s.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less in heavy snow.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast
that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If
you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
