Updated winter storm warning
Winter Storm Warning statement as of 2:59 PM EDT on March 18, 2013
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 4 am Tuesday to
midnight EDT Tuesday night.
* locations areas along and just inland of the mid coast of Maine.
* Hazard types snow.
* Accumulations snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches.
* Timing late tonight into Tuesday night.
* Impacts: roads will become snow covered and slippery. Snowfall rates of an inch or more an hour possible. Some power outages are possible near the coast in heavy wet snow. Some rain could mix in along the immediate coast Tuesday afternoon.
* Winds: northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* Temperatures: mid 20s to lower 30s.
* Visibilities: one quarter mile or less at times.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast
that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If
you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
