The National Weather Service in gray has cancelled the Wind Chill Advisory. * Hazard types... very cold wind chill values through this morning and the potential for heavy snowfall Tuesday and Wednesday. * Accumulations... snow accumulation of 12 to 16 inches. * Timing... cold wind chills continue through this morning. Heavy  snow is expected Tuesday into Wednesday. * Temperatures... 3 below to 31 above zero. * Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * Impacts... the combination of very cold temperatures and strong winds will make it feel much colder. Winter Storm Watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm  Watch which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. * Hazard types... very cold wind chill values through Sunday morning and the potential for heavy snowfall Tuesday and Wednesday. * Wind chill as low as 29 below zero through Sunday morning. * Accumulations... greater than 6 inches of snow is possible Tuesday into Wednesday. * Timing... cold wind chills continue through Sunday morning. Wind Chill Advisory expires 9:00 AM EDT on March 12, 2017 Statement as of 8:30 am EST on March 11, 2017 Wind Chill Advisory in effect until 9 am EDT Sunday. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Wind Chill Advisory which is in effect until 9 am EDT Sunday. * Hazard types... very cold wind chill values. * Wind chill... as low as 25 below zero. * Timing... through Sunday morning. * Impacts... the combination of cold and wind will cause  frostbite to occur very quickly on any exposed skin. * Winds... west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * Temperatures... zero to 10 above zero. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves.

Special Statement

Special Statement as of 5:39 PM EST on March 10, 2017 Scattered snow squalls through early evening. A line of snow showers, with embedded squalls will move across the foothills of and coastal plain of Maine, as well as central and southeast New Hampshire through 8 PM. Snow could become briefly heavy and reduce visibilities down to a quarter or less. Some spots could see a quick half inch to inch of snow as well. If driving, be prepared for rapid changes in Road conditions, and slow down when you encounter snow.   Mjc
