Winter weather advisory, small craft/gale watch and two delicious recipes

Good Morning Augusta It’s snowing outside, we’re under a winter weather advisory and small craft/Gale watch.  It’s going to be a very miserable 24 - 48 hours out there.  Don’t do something stupid in the car and end up in a hospital for Xmas. This Morning we have periods of snow and a High of 23 ºF. Winds are out of the N at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 100%. 3 to 5 inches of snow expected. Tonight we’ll have mostly cloudy skies with periods of freezing rain after midnight. Low 19 ºF. Winds will be light and variable. Chance of precip 90%. The readings from my weather instruments in the North field are: Humidity is 75%, the dew point is -3ºF, outside it’s -15.1ºC and -4.9ºF. The wind direction is North between 0.4 MPH and  1.3 MPH, generating a wind chill of 4.9ºF. The Barometric pressure is 30.30 / HPA 1026.0 and falling with a weather graphic indicating snow/rain. Small Craft advisory and Gale watch now in effect

Small Craft Advisory, Gale Watch statement as of 2:37 am EST on December 17, 2016 Small Craft Advisory in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 am EST Sunday. Gale watch in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Small Craft Advisory... which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 am EST Sunday. A gale watch has also been issued. This gale watch is in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening. * Winds... southwest 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt.   * Seas... 6 to 11 feet. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions. A gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to 47 knots has significantly increased... but the specific timing and/or location is still uncertain.

The snow will mix with and change to sleet and freezing rain late today and tonight before changing to rain early Sunday morning. * Impacts... snow... sleet and freezing rain will create difficult travel. * Winds... south 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery... and use caution while driving.

Good Morning Augusta WE’re under a storm warning and remain under a wind chill advisory so bundle up. This Morning we have abundant sunshine with a high of only 6 ºF. Winds from the W at 10 to 20 mph.  Tonight we’ll have clear skies early followed by cloudy skies overnight. Our Low will be -1F with winds being light and variable. The readings from my weather instruments in the North field are: Humidity is 47%, the dew point is -13ºF, outside it’s -21ºC and -6.8ºF. Storm Warning statement as of 5:42 am EST on December 16, 2016 Storm Warning now in effect until 11 am EST this morning. * winds... northwest 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 50 kt. * Seas... 7 to 10 feet. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Storm Warning means winds of 48 to 63 knots are imminent or occuring. Recreational boaters should remain in port... or take shelter until winds and waves subside. Commercial vessels should prepare for very strong winds and dangerous sea conditions... and consider remaining in port or taking shelter in port until winds and waves subside.  

Bitter cold, winds and a "light" recipe for dinner

Good Morning Augusta We’re under a Wind Chill advisory tonight and for the early morning tomorrow.  This is a killing cold folks, don’t ignore it.
