Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 4 PM EST Friday. * Locations... the foothills of Maine and New Hampshire and the interior away from the coast. * Hazard types... snow... sleet... and freezing rain * accumulations... 2 to 3 inches of snow... and up to a quarter inch of ice. * Timing... snow will begin in late Thursday evening... with sleet and freezing rain mixing in after midnight. * Impacts... roadways and sidewalks will become icy. Ice accumulation on trees may lead to downed branches and associated power outages. * Winds... east 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. * Temperatures... in the lower 30s. * Visibilities... heavy snow may reduce visibilities to 1/2 mile or less at times before the changeover.
