Winter Storm Watch Statement as of 3:00 PM EST on November 21, 2011 Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Tuesday night through Thursday morning. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm Watch which is in effect from late Tuesday night through Thursday morning. * Locations: this watch includes all of northern and most of western New Hampshire and the western Maine mountains and foothills. * Hazard types: heavy wet snow * accumulations: 6 or more inches of snow are possible. * Timing: snow will begin late Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday. During Wednesday afternoon snow may mix with or change to rain across southern portions of the watch area before changing back to snow late in the day. * Impacts: heavy wet snow will result in hazardous travel conditions on Wednesday. Additionally the heavy nature of the snow could result in tree damage and subsequent power outages. * Winds: north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph

Clear and cool morning

This morning it is sunny, and it will be colder with highs in the lower 40s. We will have light and variable winds. Tonight it will be mostly clear. Lows around 18 with light and variable winds. The readings outside right now are: a relative humidity of 72% with a Dew Point of 21.8ºF. The temperature is 29.7ºF, with a wind chill of 22º F.   The wind velocity is presently between 4.0 mph and 11.0 mph out of the North Northeast. Our Barometric pressure is 30.24 and rising. Visibility is presently 10.0 miles and very clear, the ceiling is terrific.   Yet another, more scientific and hence more accurate non-instrumental way to predict weather was found in an old issue of Backpacker magazine, and was submitted by my wife. Make a cup of coffee. I like to add cream and sugar since it makes the bubbles easier to see but black coffee is fine. Hot tea or hot cocoa will work too. Another blustery morning

It is mostly cloudy this morning, becoming partly sunny later in the day. Highs will be in the upper 50s. There will be Southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph. Tonight it will be partly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Lows in the upper 20s. with Northwest winds dropping to around 10 mph. The readings outside right now are: a relative humidity of 68% with a Dew Point of 34.8ºF. The temperature is 44.6ºF, with a wind chill of 40º F.   The wind velocity is presently between 4.0 mph and 5.7 mph out of the South Southwest. That will drop in velocity to about 10 mph tonight and swing into the North by Northwest. Our Barometric pressure is 29.94 and falling. The was no rain or snowfall overnight in our area. Visibility is presently 10.0 miles and with scattered clouds, the ceiling is down to 8,000 feet.  

Blustery morning

It is sunny this morning. Today's temps should reach 40ºF with wind that will be between 15 and 20 mph. Tonight it will be cloudy with winds decreasing to 10-15 mph with temps dropping to the mid to low 30's. The readings outside right now are: a relative humidity of 56% with a Dew Point of 25.3ºF. The temperature is 39.8ºF, with a wind chill of 30º F.   The wind velocity is presently between 2.7 mph and 9.0 mph out of the Southwest. However, the winds will increase as the day progresses. Our Barometric pressure is 30.15 and steady. There was no rain or snowfall overnight. Visibility is presently 10.0 miles and the ceiling is down to 12,000 feet. There is a driving advisory out this morning because of the snow that melted on contact with the roads overnight, and then froze when the temps dropped below freezing. Drive careful. It is sunny this morning. Today's temps should reach about 40ºF. We have wind that will increase to perhaps 15 mph later this afternoon. Tonight it will be cold with temps in the low 20's   and a 40% chance of snow. The readings outside right now are: a relative humidity of 87% with a Dew Point of 28.6ºF. The temperature is 32.0ºF, with a wind chill of 30 º F.   The wind velocity is presently between 2.9 mph and 7.0 mph out of the West Southwest.
