It’s going to be very wintery tomorrow folks. Be ready for crumby weather and traffic troubles.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY
Begins: 10:00 AM Thu, Nov 28, 2024
Expires: 4:00 AM Fri, Nov 29, 2024
Low pressure crosses southern New England Thursday and into the
Gulf of Maine Thursday night bringing heavy wet snow to the area.
* WHAT...Wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 6
inches.
* WHERE...Central Interior Cumberland, Kennebec, Androscoggin, and
Interior York Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 AM Thursday to 4 AM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Low pressure will bring snow and rain to the region.
Travel will still be impacted due to snowfall accumulations on
untreated roads. The potential exists for snow bands that will
bring periods of locally heavy snowfall, which will lead to rapid
snow accumulations and extremely dangerous travel conditions.
Heavy wet snow will cause weighted tree limbs, leading to snapped
branches. Isolated to scattered outages possible. Periods of
moderate and heavy snow will combine with low visibility to create
dangerous driving conditions. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.
