This morning it is raining with isolated thunderstorms during morning hours, then showers and scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Locally heavy rainfall possible this morning with highs around 70°F. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph gusting to 25 mph.

Tonight we’ll have clouds with showers and scattered thunderstorms during evening hours, then scattered showers after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Lows in the lower 60s with East winds around 10 mph gusting to 20 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable.

The outdoor temperature is 61.0°F, the Dew Point is 60.7°F and it feels like 61.0°F.

FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8:15 AM EDT THIS MORNING.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of west central Maine, including the following

counties, Somerset, Franklin and Oxford.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 6:15 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain with estimates of an inch across most areas. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches are possible this morning. Minor flooding

could begin shortly in the advisory area, particularly in flood prone areas. Motorists should plan on extra time for the morning commute and avoid any flooded areas.

- Showers with heavy rain are expected to continue on and off through the afternoon, likely leading to additional flood concerns. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio for any flood

warnings throughout the day.

- Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Conway, Farmington, Fairfield, Bridgton, Fryeburg, Mechanic

Falls, Bethel, Eustis, Rumford and Turner.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
