Special Statement
Special Statement as of 3:38 am EDT on April 20, 2016
Elevated fire danger this afternoon.
Today temperatures will climb into the 50s to near 60
degrees combining with a drier air mass to produce relative
humidity values near 25 percent. Northwest winds gusting to 20 or
25 mph early in the day will gradually diminish to around 10 mph
by afternoon. This could lead to an elevated fire danger this
afternoon. Recent rainfall has helped to wet some of the brush on
the ground but this should dry out quickly this afternoon. While
red flag conditions may not be met across for coastal
areas western Maine... and northern New Hampshire... open burning
is not advised today.
