* Special Weather Statement for...

 Androscoggin County in Maine, Kennebec County in Maine, interior Cumberland County in Maine, southern Franklin County in Maine and southern Oxford County in Maine

* until 3:00 PM EDT

* at 2:29 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar was tracking

strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Canton to near Bridgton... moving to the east at 25 mph.

* Wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph are expected with these storms. Very

heavy rain is falling... and will cause water to pond on roadways

and quickly fill roadside ditches and small streams.

* Locations impacted include...

 Lewiston...

 Minot...

 Turner...

 Auburn...

 and Mechanic Falls.
