WINTER STORM WARNING ISSUED: 3:57 AM APR. 9, 2020 – NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 AM EDT FRIDAY. * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches expected. * WHERE...Kennebec and Interior Waldo Counties. * WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 AM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. The snow may be wet and heavy with the potential for scattered power outages due to downed tree limbs. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. National Weather Service Gray ME 3:28 PM EDT Sun Apr 5 2020 INCREASED FIRE DANGER FOR SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND COASTAL WESTERN MAINE ON MONDAY... There will be an elevated potential for fire spread across parts of southern New Hampshire and coastal Western Maine during the afternoon on Monday. Temperatures well into the 50s to near 60 will contribute to low relative humidity near 20 percent.
