Note from the Blogger: Right now it is 39 degrees out there. Wind Chill Advisory Statement as of 3:23 PM EST on February 22, 2015 The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Wind Chill Advisory which is in effect from 10 PM Monday to 8 am EST Tuesday. * Hazard types... very low wind chills. * Wind chill... as low as 32 below due to temperatures 16 below  to zero... and winds west 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. * Timing... the cold airmass will begin to move into southern sections Monday night. Temperatures will drop into early Tuesday morning. * Impacts... frost bite and hypothermia are possible. * Winds... west 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. * Temperatures... 16 below to zero.   Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and

Clear, warming temps and it stopped snowing!

Good morning Augusta. This morning it is mostly cloudy with Fog early. High of 37F. Winds less than 5 mph. Tonight it will be partly cloudy. Low of 10F. Winds from the WNW at 5 to 10 mph. The readings from my own weather instruments are: The humidity is 82% with a dew point of 19ºF , Temperature is  27.9ºF and a wind chill of 27.9ºF Our wind direction is Southwest between 0.2 MPH and  1.3 MPH. The Barometric pressure is 30.20 HPA 1022.6 and falling with a weather graphic indicating snow.  The UV rating is 0 out of 16, Sunrise is at 6:28 a.m. sunset is 5:17 PM and Moon Rise is 8:27 a.m. and the moon phase is waxing crescent.  For the pilots out there Raw Metar is:   Visibility is 6.0 miles/9.7 Kilometers with We have had  roughly 5 inches of snow overnight.

Good morning Augusta. This morning it is mostly cloudy with a chance of snow in the afternoon. High of 21F. Winds from the SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Tonight it will be overcast with snow. Low of 28F. Winds from the South at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 90% with accumulations up to 5 in. possible. The readings from my own weather instruments are: The humidity is 57% with a dew point of -6ºF , Temperature is 5.8 ºF and a wind chill of 5.9ºF Our wind direction is Southeast between 1.6 MPH and  2.7 MPH. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 7 am EST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect. * Hazard types... snow. * Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches. * Timing... snow will begin Saturday night and continue into  Sunday. * Impacts... snow covered roads will cause slippery driving conditions. * Winds... southwest 5 to 10 mph. * Temperatures... in the 20s to around 30.   Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

Winter Storm Watch Statement as of 4:03 PM EST on February 20, 2015 Winter Storm Watch in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm Watch which is in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. * Hazard types... heavy snow in the interior and mixed precipitation along the coast. * Accumulations... 4 to 8 inches of snow. * Timing... snow will begin Saturday night and continue into Sunday. * Impacts... snow covered roads could lead to dangerous travel conditions. * Winds... southwest 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. * Temperatures... in the upper 20s.   Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

Good morning Augusta. We’re under another storm warning. This morning it is overcast and snowing. The expected High is 25F with a windchill as low as 10F. Winds from the North at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 90% with accumulations up to 2 in. Tonight it will be overcast with snow in the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Low of 7F with a windchill as low as -6F. Winds from the WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 70% with accumulations up to 5 in. possible.  The readings from my own weather instruments are: The humidity is 88% with a dew point of 13 ºF , Temperature is 17.8ºF and a wind chill of 8.6ºF Our wind direction is North between 6.3 MPH and  8.3 MPH.
