Flood advisory

Statement as of 5:06 PM EDT on August 12, 2012 The National Weather Service in Gray Maine has issued an * Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for minor flooding of poor drainage areas in... southern Androscoggin County in southwest Maine... southwestern Kennebec County in south central Maine... central Cumberland County in Maine... * until 700 PM EDT * at 502 PM EDT slow moving thunderstorms were producing very heavy rainfall from near Lewiston... southwest towards Sebago Lake. These thunderstorms will slowly move eastward over the next couple of hours. National Weather Service Doppler radar indicates rainfall rates of 1 or more inches an hour at times. This will lead to minor flooding and ponding of water on roadways with poor drainage. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway.
