northwestern Waldo...southeastern Somerset...northwestern Lincoln and

north central Sagadahoc Counties...

At 409 PM EST...An area of heavy snow was along a line extending from

near Bingham to near Litchfield...and moving east AT 5 MPH.

Locations impacted include...

Belgrade, Detroit, Nobleboro, Whitefield, Solon, Oakland, Cambridge,

Freedom, Pittston, Smithfield, Palermo, Rome, Winslow, Mount Vernon,

Norridgewock, Chelsea, Randolph, Winthrop, Alna, and Harmony.

This includes the following highways...

Interstate 295 between mile markers 46 and 51.

Interstate 95 between mile markers 95 and 156.

  * Sudden and brief snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are

  possible in this area of heavy snow.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be

prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra

time when traveling.
