Hot, steamy and risky weather for the ill and elderly

Good Morning Augusta

Tonight we’ll have a possible stray shower or thunderstorm early in the evening. Clear to partly cloudy. Low of only 66ºF. Winds light and variable.

The readings from my weather instruments in the North field are:

Humidity is 97%, the dew point is 69ºF and its 82ºF outside.

The wind direction is Southwest between 0.7 MPH and 6.9 MPH.

The Barometric pressure is 29.86 / HPA 1011.1 and falling with a weather graphic indicating clouds.

The UV rating is 2.0 out of 16, Sunrise is at 5:09 a.m. Sunset is 8:20 P.M. Moon rise is at 4:27 a.m., Moon set is 1:52 a.m. and the Moon Phase is waxing gibbous.

The RAW METAR readings from the airport in Augusta Maine are:

METAR KAUG 151053Z AUTO 21004KT 8SM SCT002 21/21 A2979 RMK AO2 SLP087 T0206020

Visibility is 8.0 miles / 12.9 kilometers with scattered clouds to 200 ft / 60 m.

We received 0.24 inches of rain here in the past 24 hours in the form of hit-and-run thunderstorms, and this morning’s sun is steaming some of that off.  So if you’re thirsty, just inhale.

Remember, with this kind of heat and humidity remember to stay out of the sun and dr8ink liquids.  DO NOT forget your pets.  They need to be kep cool too.
