southeastern Somerset County in west central Maine...
northeastern Kennebec County in south central Maine...
northwestern Waldo County in south central Maine...
* until 630 PM EDT
* at 540 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
capable of producing large hail up to ping pong Ball size and
damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located over
Pittsfield... and moving southeast at 20 mph.
* Locations impacted include...
Thorndike... Pittsfield... Clinton... Unity... Canaan... Albion...
Hartland... Burnham... Detroit... Freedom... Jackson... Palmyra... Troy
and Saint Albans.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds... destructive hail...
deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection... move to
an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy
rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water
covers the Road.
