Wet and rainy morning

Good Morning Augusta.
This morning it is wet, its been raining this morning for quite a while on
and off. Overcast with a chance of rain, then rain in the afternoon. High of
72F. Winds from the SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%.
Tonight it will be overcast with a chance of a thunderstorm and rain. Low of
54F. Winds from the SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90% with rainfall
amounts near 1.0 in. possible.
The readings outside right now, taken from my own weather instruments:
a relative humidity of 100% with a Dew Point of 54ºF.
The temperature is 54ºF.
Presently we have South Southeast winds between 2.4 mph and 7.0 mph.
Our Barometric pressure is 30.17 and rising with a weather graphic
indicating rain.
We had precipitation overnight in this area of 0.08 inches.
Visibility is 1.2 miles with clouds and overcast down to 200 feet.
Now that the warm weather is "here", you need to be aware of sun related
care. And, if you are like the rest of us, you don't have a lot of
"disposable income" for those fancy sun screen products with european
sounding names.
So why not make your own supply of it this summer?
How to make your own sun screen:
The 3 ingredients: oil, beeswax, zinc oxide
Commercial sunscreen products often contain propyl compounds and other
chemicals that are questionable for your health.
Many of the all-natural products are overly expensive due to the addition of
exotic tropical oils for their scent. In addition, many commercial products
may have been tested on animals.
When all you really need is cheap, safe protection from the sun's rays, try
the following sunscreen recipe.
This recipe will make 11 oz of sunscreen.
1. Measure 1 cup of olive oil, heat the cup of olive oil over a low flame.
2. Add 1 ounce of beeswax, broken into pieces if possible (so that it melts
faster).
3. Keep stirring continuously, stir constantly until the beeswax is
completely melted in the hot oil.
4. Put on a pair of gloves and a face mask. This is to protect you from
direct contact with the zinc oxide powder. Add one to two tablespoons of USP
grade zinc oxide powder. Add a little at a time, continuing to stir
constantly. Ensure that it is blended in well.
5. Remove the mixture from the stove. Pour it into a glass or ceramic pot
that can be covered.
If pouring into a narrow neck, use a pastry bag to squeeze the sunscreen
through.
6. Allow to cool to room temperature before use. Keep stored in a cool, dry
environment. Label and date
Next, you need to come up with a catchy sounding slogan or name for it – but
you're on your own with that.
