Good morning Augusta. My personal weather station is currently offline pending repairs. We're under another Special Weather Statement which I've posted directly before this post. Simply stated it tells you to stay out of the water if the water temp is too cold. You needed to be told that, right? This morning we have partly sunny skies with a slight chance for showers this afternoon. Warm with highs in the upper 80s with light and variable winds, becoming southwest around 10 mph with gusting to 20 mph this afternoon. Tonight we'll have partly cloudy conditions with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during evening hours, turning mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds and small hail. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable. Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Gray ME 5:11 AM EDT Sat May 14 2022 National Weather Service Cold Water Safety Message. Please check with state and local authorities regarding guidelines for allowed activities. * The warm air temperatures this weekend in the 80s may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures which are currently only in the upper 40s across Sebago Lake and Lake Winnipesaukee, and in the upper 40s in the regions smaller lakes and rivers. * The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water. According to the US Coast Guard, when the water temperatures are below 50 degrees, the chance of immediate incapacitation due to cold shock is extremely high. Anyone on small boats, canoes, or kayaks should plan accordingly if recreating this weekend and use extreme caution to avoid this threat. Paddle smart from the start and always wear your life jacket!

Highs in the lower 80s with southwest winds around 10 mph. Tonight we'll have mostly clear conditions with patchy fog. Lows will drop to the upper 50s. Winds will be south around 10 mph gusting to 20 mph in the evening, becoming light and variable. The wind is West southwest between 0.5 MPH and 2.5 MPH. Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Gray ME 9:13 AM EDT Thu May 12 2022 Elevated Fire Weather Danger Predicted Today A very dry air mass and breezy conditions will combine with dead and dry fuels such as grass, leaves, and twigs to create the potential for uncontrolled fire spread across interior portions of Maine and New Hampshire today. This afternoon, relative humidity values will decrease to low levels between 15 and 30 percent. At the same time, south to southeast winds around 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph will continue to dry fuels and increase fire spread potential.
