#MEwx Urgent Weather Statement / Winter Weather Advisory now in effect

National Weather Service Gray ME 3:36 PM EST Wed Dec 16 2020 SNOW ON THE WAY FOR TONIGHT AND THURSDAY. Low pressure will track northeastward off the Mid Atlantic coast tonight to a position just southeast of Cape Cod Thursday afternoon. Snow will begin overspreading southern New Hampshire around midnight, then continue to overspread the rest of the New Hampshire and southwest and central Maine late tonight. This storm is expected to bring a fluffy snow to our region, not the wet and heavy type like we saw with the last storm. The snow will taper off and end Thursday afternoon. A winter storm watch remains in effect for portions of the Mid Coast of Maine as well as portions of central Maine. This is because there is high uncertainty in how far north the northern edge of the heavy snow shield will progress. The decision to convert to a warning or advisory will be made this evening when new data becomes available. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 6 PM
