Special statement

Special Statement Statement as of 6:09 am EDT on March 12, 2015 Slippery spots this morning with continuing possible squalls Due to the combination of refreezing snow melt and scattered snow squalls slippery conditions are expected to develop this morning. Slippery spots are already developing on some roadways parking lots... overpasses... and driveways. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution. Brief visibility reductions to under a quarter mile and snow accumulations of a half inch to one inch of snow in a short amount of time are likely with these snow squalls. Any areas still above freezing as the squalls move through will cause the initial snowfall to melt... and then quickly freeze as the temperatures drop. Therefore slippery spots are expected to develop this morning. The scattered squall activity should sweep offshore soon after daybreak.
